MBC Quilting
5415 E 115th Street
Tulsa, Oklahoma 74137
Please be sure to fill out an estimate before dropping off quilt. If you have any questions about preparation, timing or cost, please feel free to reach out ahead of time.
Once quilts are completed, I will let you know that they are ready for pickup. If mailed, I will send the completed quilt back via UPS and send a separate shipping invoice.
What size should the backing be?
Backing should be four inches larger on all sides. Add 4 inches to each side of the top measurements or a total of 8 inches to the top width and length. For example if your quilt top is 60”X70” please ensure that your backing is at least 68”X78”. If you need help piecing your backing, we are happy to help for an additional fee.
What about the batting?
I use The Warm Company’s Warm & Natural Batting and the cost is included in the price per square inch. If you would prefer something different, please provide it for me when you drop off or mail your quilt. Batting should also be four inches larger on all sides. Add 4 inches to each side of the top measurements or a total of 8 inches to the top width and length.
How do I get my quilt ready for quilting?
Trim all threads. Unwanted dark thread can show through on light material. Other threads can get pulled into the batting during the quilting process causing snags.
Remove any embellishments.
Iron quilt top flat.
Label the top with a pinned note "Top". (sometimes this does not matter, but sometimes it REALLY matters!)
What type of thread do you use?
Glide Quilting Thread. I have several neutral colors and will pick the one that blends the best with the color of your quilt top. If you have something specific in mind, just let me know! Glide is lint free, strong and consistent.
What is the cost?
There is a minimum $50 charge for edge to edge quilting and increases with the square inch of the quilt. Our pricing includes Warm & Natural Batting. Use our cost estimator to see your costs.
